Since its inception in 2014, SDD has counted among its members some of the best national and international design brands. As our industry becomes more prominent on the NYC stage, we are expanding our organization’s boundaries to include designs firms and more local creative businesses that cater to the interior décor industry at large. SDD has been a not for profit organization since 2014.

Our main goal is to provide a sounding board for our member’s initiatives, whether collective or individual. We foster exchange and networking that gives life to new ideas for our organization. Our initiatives include coordinated in-store receptions and design talks, coordinated calendars for sales and promotions, collaborations with local and international institutions during important moments of the city’s design calendar and much more. Overall, by building a strong design community we seek to amplify our voices for the good of our members and our neighborhood alike.

Our list of activities grows as our member’s will throughout the year. Participation to any initiative is at member’s discretion. Membership benefits include access to SDD database and social media for digital communications, support in the coordination of group events, inputs and updates on the NYC design industry and opportunities for group activities, collaborations with local design schools, monthly member meetings, inclusion in the newsletter, media support during NYCxDesign, and more.

We are not an agency: we are a not-for-profit organization of brands, made by the brands for the brands. Our organization is driven by a board nominated at-will among its members, and execution is guided by a project director and a marketing manager.
